Bodegas Fuentenarro, Cuatro Meses en Barrica 2018 – Ribera del Duero, Spain
Info: The estate is owned by the Perez Garcia family who only grow Tempranillo. Production is limited and the wines are aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels. This particular red is 100% Tempranillo (known locally as Tinta del Pais) and, as the name suggests, spends 4 months in American oak barrels.
Tasting notes: Very intense black fruits (black cherry, blackberry), mocha, vanilla and dark chocolate ganache. Full bodied with powerful but silky tannins.
Pairing: Spanish jambon and Manchego cheese or a spiced Spanish stew.
